AOC's 180Hz Mini-LED monitor is down to its lowest price in latest Amazon deal - Neowin
Neowin is reporting on the story above. It caught our attention because it may affect readers checking their internet or a specific service on SpeedTestTools right now.
A fast monitor promises exceptionally smooth visuals, which is exciting if you spend time streaming shows or playing games online. However, upgrading your screen will not improve your internet performance. If your home network struggles with delays or dropped data, online gameplay will still feel choppy and video streams will still pause to buffer, regardless of how quickly your screen refreshes.
Before jumping on hardware sales, take a moment to evaluate your current connection. Run an online speed test to check your basic download speeds and pay close attention to your ping, which tracks connection responsiveness. If you experience delays or erratic speeds, try connecting your computer directly to your Wi-Fi router with an Ethernet cable to get the stable performance your new gear deserves.
A modern display can dramatically improve how your apps look, but a reliable internet connection is what truly keeps everything running smoothly.
- Run a quick speed test — get concrete numbers before assuming it's your ISP.
- Open the Down Detector board to see which major services are actually having issues right now.
- If numbers look off, walk through the Fix-My-Internet checklist — most issues clear in the first two steps.
