Google Cloud services face outage in London, Revolut services down too - CNN
CNN is reporting on the story above. It caught our attention because it may affect readers checking their internet or a specific service on SpeedTestTools right now.
Behind the scenes, massive server hubs power many of the everyday apps on your smartphone, including the tools you use to manage money. When one of these digital hubs hits a snag, it creates a domino effect across several services at once. For regular users, this usually looks like an app spinning endlessly or a payment failing, leaving you to wonder if your own connection is at fault.
Before you restart your router or reinstall an app, check whether the rest of the web works. Try opening a few unrelated websites. If those load normally, your home internet and mobile data are fine, and the problem is on the company side. It is best to avoid tapping repeatedly on failed payments or transfers, as multiple attempts might process all at once after the technical issues clear up.
When major backbone networks stumble, the smartest fix is simply waiting it out while engineers resolve the problem behind the scenes.
- Run a quick speed test — get concrete numbers before assuming it's your ISP.
- Open the Down Detector board to see which major services are actually having issues right now.
- If numbers look off, walk through the Fix-My-Internet checklist — most issues clear in the first two steps.
