In Kyiv and the region, Russian attacks caused internet outages for 100,000 subscribers - Українські Національні Новини (УНН)
Українські Національні Новини (УНН) is reporting on the story above. It caught our attention because it may affect readers checking their internet or a specific service on SpeedTestTools right now.
Major service disruptions remind us just how fragile our everyday digital connections can be during regional crises. Losing home broadband or mobile access instantly cuts people off from essential news, emergency updates, and the simple reassurance of checking in on family.
If your connection drops without warning, start by looking at your router lights. A missing or red internet indicator usually means the problem lies with your provider rather than your home equipment, so repeatedly restarting your gear will not help. Try switching off Wi-Fi on your smartphone to test whether local cellular networks are still carrying traffic. To prepare for widespread downtime, make a habit of keeping portable battery banks charged, reducing screen brightness to save power, and downloading offline maps or essential contacts while you still have a signal.
When central network hubs are damaged, having simple offline backups and a fully charged phone is the best way to keep communication lines open.
- Run a quick speed test — get concrete numbers before assuming it's your ISP.
- Open the Down Detector board to see which major services are actually having issues right now.
- If numbers look off, walk through the Fix-My-Internet checklist — most issues clear in the first two steps.
