Microsoft’s 2026 Surface Laptop gets a $450 Amazon discount - Android Authority
Android Authority is reporting on the story above. It caught our attention because it may affect readers checking their internet or a specific service on SpeedTestTools right now.
A steep discount on a modern computer is tempting, especially if your current machine struggles with basic web browsing or video calls. Many people assume their home internet is acting up when the real problem is an older computer that cannot process data quickly. Upgrading your hardware can sometimes make your existing connection feel noticeably faster.
Before buying anything, test your current setup to see if a new machine is truly necessary. Run a speed test on your laptop, and then run the same test on your smartphone while standing in the same room. If your phone achieves much higher numbers, your computer is likely slowing you down. Also make sure to restart your router and install any pending system updates, which can fix simple network glitches for free.
A discounted device can solve stubborn performance troubles, but confirming your real speeds first ensures you only open your wallet when an upgrade is truly needed.
- Run a quick speed test — get concrete numbers before assuming it's your ISP.
- Open the Down Detector board to see which major services are actually having issues right now.
- If numbers look off, walk through the Fix-My-Internet checklist — most issues clear in the first two steps.
