Reddit wants to send you down new rabbit holes with its personalized ‘For You’ feed - Digital Trends
Digital Trends is reporting on the story above. It caught our attention because it may affect readers checking their internet or a specific service on SpeedTestTools right now.
Dynamic, personalized feeds constantly pull fresh media in the background, especially image-heavy and video posts. If you are using a limited mobile data plan or sharing a busy home Wi-Fi connection, endless scrolling can quietly consume bandwidth and cause the app to stutter, leaving you wondering if your internet is failing.
To see if your app has this new feature, check for recent updates on your phone and look at your main navigation tabs. If browsing starts to feel slow or posts take too long to appear, open a different website to see if your internet is actually the problem. You can also adjust your app settings to disable autoplay for media, which reduces data strain and helps pages load much faster.
A heavier feed demands more from your network, but managing your media settings keeps your daily browsing smooth and responsive.
- Run a quick speed test — get concrete numbers before assuming it's your ISP.
- Open the Down Detector board to see which major services are actually having issues right now.
- If numbers look off, walk through the Fix-My-Internet checklist — most issues clear in the first two steps.
